With an aim to provide the necessary exposure to our students in the area of banking and financial sectors, our college organized a guest lecture on “Career in Banking and Financial Sector.” The lecture was delivered by Adv. S.L Gupta, Retd. SBI Law Officer.
The lecture basically focused on the opportunities to work in different fields of the banking sector. He mentioned that there are basically four benefits of choosing a job in the banking sector, viz. Security, Salary, LFC Facility and Learning Curve. There are various opportunities to work in different banking fields, like Branch Banking, Retail Banking, Administration, Credit Management, Agri. Banking, Corporate Banking, Project Finance, Foreign Exchange, Deputation to Subsidiaries, Deputation to Govt. Departments, Foreign Postings and Mandatory Assignments apart from many others.
He enlightened the students about the following exams, which they may choose to appear to get a job in a government bank:
- State Bank of India Probationary Officer Exam
- IBPS Exam for Probationary Officer
- IBPS Exam for Clerk
- Reserve Bank of India Exam
- Regional Rural Bank Exam
It was a great session where Mr. Gupta provided our students with much-needed awareness about the practical working environment and selection process in the banking and financial sector.
