Lecture delivered by Hon’ble Dipak Misra,  Former Chief Justice of India, organised by the Advocate Council, Haryana, attended by students of BSAIL on 17th March 2019

The event was graced by the Former Chief Justice of India, Hon’ble Shri Dipak Misra. He enlightened our students by delivering a lecture on Free Legal Aid. Hon’ble Shri Dipak Misra, in his address, stated that law students form a privileged class in society, and rendering legal aid by the law students is a duty bestowed upon them. He referred to Article 51A of the constitution that deals with Fundamental Duties.  He discussed various aspects of equality with reference to Article 14 of the constitution. He advised the students to be well conversant with the provisions of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. He talked about the discriminatory practices prevailing in society and the role of law in establishing a just society. He reiterated that sheer knowledge and perseverance are the keys to accomplishing success and law students must imbibe these qualities and try to make a difference in society. He advised the students to develop a good understanding and knowledge of the law as it is the only medium to deliver justice to all the sections of society.
