B.S. Anangpuria Institute of Law conducted the Student Orientation, which aimed at familiarizing the students with the newly inducted B.A.LL. B(Hons.)/ LL.M. course. The aim was to introduce the students to the rudimentary modalities of the course structure, courseware, life and culture on campus, and organize a week-long event for the same. The main objective of this Orientation Program was to bridge the gap between Higher Secondary School and life at College. The aim was to introduce the basics of legal studies to the students prior to the core law classes to assist the transition into Law School. The Orientation Programme began with legal professionals giving the newly inducted students an insight into the legal field and profession.
The invitees were:
- Hon’ble Shri Maglesh Kumar Choubey, Chief Judicial Magistrate Cum Secretary, DLSA, Faridabad
- Hon’ble Smt. Ashmita Deshwal, Judicial Magistrate-II Class.
Shri Maglesh Kumar Choubey addressed the students on the aspect of how old school legal education differed from the modern-day legal education, how the development of law took place, and what’s the difference in the outlook of people from the two generations towards the legal field. He emphasized the importance of litigation as a career choice and urged the students to consider it. He also spoke about the Judicial system in the Country and shared his experience as a Judge.
Ms. Ashmita Deshwal chose a different topic on “Drinking and Driving” to address the students. She focused mainly on the aspect of life after law school and briefed the students about the various career opportunities available to students after graduation. She went into the intricate details of all the various career options available to a student of law.
