The students of Anangpuria Law School, Faridabad, visited the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Sector 15, Gurugram, Haryana, on 15 October 2026, as part of their academic curriculum prescribed by Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.
The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of the Child Welfare Committee and its role in the protection, care, and welfare of children in need of care and protection. It offered an opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge of child rights and juvenile justice with the practical application of legal provisions and child protection mechanisms.
The visit enhanced their understanding of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, particularly Sections 27 and 29 concerning the constitution and powers of the Child Welfare Committee, along with the constitutional safeguards under Articles 15(3) and 39(e)–(f). The experience highlighted the importance of protecting children’s rights, ensuring their welfare, and promoting access to justice.
Overall, the educational visit was a valuable learning experience that strengthened the students’ practical understanding of child welfare institutions and their contribution to the justice delivery system. Such academic initiatives play an important role in bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical legal experience, thereby preparing future legal professionals to contribute meaningfully to the protection of child rights and the promotion of justice.
